Virginia Beach Myofascial Release & Massage

My  Focus is on You

Early in life, Amy embarked on a path of self-exploration that turned into a career in the healing arts. Since then, she has been dedicated to expanding her knowledge to assist others in their own path of self-awareness and wellness.  She has explored many different approaches to the mind/body connection and has found the benefits of John Barns' Myofascial Release to be the most beneficial in helping her clients.

Amy is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, an AmSAT certified teacher of The Alexander Technique, and a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.  She has trained in John Barnes' Myofascial Release, Aromatherapy, Body Memory Recall, Barratt Breathwork, A.C.E. Massage Cupping Therapy, and Hatha Yoga.

Amy combines all of her education into a hands-on approach that addresses accumulated stress, injury, and pain.  She enjoys problem solving and finding a resolution for clients who are suffering from chronic pain and/or trauma and have been unable to find resolution through surgery or other medical approaches.  She is a strong believer in a proactive approach to health and wellness.

Amy's goal is to create a safe and comfortable environment so each client can reach their ultimate potential in relaxation and well-being of the mind and body.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is an effective way to help reduce muscle tension, relieve pain and discomfort, increase circulation and cellular health, reduce stress and create a feeling of relaxation. Therapeutic massage can incorporate Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques and massage cupping to help relax muscles, break down knots and relieve tension. Each session is customized for the individual client’s needs.

Myofascial Release

John Barns' Myofascial Release is a gentle and safe  hands-on approach to relieving tension, pain, and dysfunction throughout the body. This approach targets the fascial system which is a tough connective tissue that spreads throughout your body from head to toe. When the fascia is damaged through trauma or inflammation it binds down and can put pressure on muscles, nerves, organs, blood vessels and bones. Myofascial Release is one of the most effective forms of bodywork available today.

John F. Barnes is an internationally recognized physical therapist, lecturer, author, and the leading authority on Myofascial Release.

Massage Cupping

The ancient therapy of cupping is used to lift the tissue with applied suction and help with pain, inflammation, digestive problems, circulation and stress relief.
